I will not betray my Buffalo roots, however the Buffalo Bills are not in the Super Bowl. So, I have to pick a team for today's Super Bowl.

Final Score: Colts 24, Bears 13
I'm rooting for the Colts too. Partly because you and Penny are Colts fans and partly because it would take a lot for me to EVER to root for an NFC team.
Plus Manning probabbly has the numbers so he "deserves" a ring. I must admit, it has been funny to watch the Colts being predicted, early in the season, to take it all, only to choke. But I want them to win 'cuz I don't want another Marino- great QB with no ring.

Chris: Marino - What about Kelly?!?
Anyway, I was a fan of the Colts when I was kid. Johnny U. and all that. I hated the Jets. Namath and all that. I was deeply depressed by the outcome of Superbowl III. But I never liked the Colts after they moved to Indianapolis, for a number of reasons. However, I am an AFC man (even though the Colts are an "old NFL" team), and I don't think "DA Bears" deserve to win. SO even though it was fun all those years seeing the Colts self destruct before the big game (and they almost did it again this year), now that they are there, I'll root for them.
In truth, I'm more interested in my pool numbers, which are very crappy this year (9 and 8: I win money either way), and so I'm hoping for something like Colts 28 Bears 9.

Marty,
Although Jim Kelly was the toughest, smartest and nicest QB (as well as the greatest motivator and team leader) to ever play in the NFL, he didn't quite have Marino's "numbers" (TDs, total yds, etc). Manning is getting there.

BTW Kelly is ranked 14th in total yds, 15th in completions and 17th in TDs. Manning is ahead of Kelly in every category, and he still has many years to play.
That said, I'd choose Kelly for my team any day of the week. (but mostly Sundays).

Oh, I know Marino's numbers are better. I just thought, "How could you mention Marino before Kelly?". Marino never got the ring. He never even got to the game.

Correction Marty. In his second year (84-85), Marino was in the big game and lost to Montana's 49'ers.

Oh, that's right. I just kept thinking of all the times they finished second fiddle to Kelly and the Bills.

Congratulations, Paul, and also Indianapolis, Peyton Manning, and Tony Dungy.

Close
I was pullin' for the Colts. AFC.
Grossman looks like he's 16, and I knew he didn't have what it takes. Shannon Sharpe called it right--If Grossman has a bad day, the Bears will lose. He had a pretty shitty game. Too much emphasis on passing in all that rain.

I'm happy because my wife is happy. But the Bills sill didn't win. I am sad for David and the Bears.

Go Colts! 29-14. Pay no attention to the time stamp of my entry -- it's all lies!

Grossman is a rookie quarterback, not that shabby of a rookie year to take your team to the super bowl. Looks like it is up to the Cubs to bring a championship to Chicago.
In the mean time, there is still Sabre hockey. Which is not looking too bad either!
