Whilst the Godless Heathen Liberals back home in WNY bemoan the failure of passage of a bill legalizing same sex marriage in NYS, and think of ways to remove God and religion from every facet of our lives as Christmas approaches, F**king twinkle-toed Communist savages that they are: I got this poem today from the wife of a Marine.
Pete Meletis is a survivor of the encirclement of the 5th Marine Regiment at the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. To look at him, you'd never guess he's over 80---looks more like 65. His wife Vivian, a charming lady, is a tireless year round worker for Toys for Tots.
Pause this year to remember. Christmas in ratholes like Iraq, Afghanistan--The DMZ in Korea, Guantanamo Bay, Okinawa, and on ships at sea are very difficult for our warriors, and just as hard on their families. I've got more than enough personal experience to know. They deserve to be remembered for what they do for our country, at low pay and in usually lousy conditions. If your community is doing something special for our young warriors, do what you can to help. Or go to www.uso.org, they'll tell you how you can help. It will make you feel good inside, and remind you what the gift our Savior gave us with his birth and presence on Earth was all about to begin with.
Merry Christmas Marines
Christmas is upon us, the Christmas lights shine bright
And so I send this greeting to someone special tonight
‘Twas the night before Christmas I was scurrying to and fro
Wrapping my presents with bright colored bow
I checked my list twice making sure I hadn’t missed
A single person on this year’s Christmas list
As I sat down with a cocoa filled mug
I felt in my heart a very strong tug
Again I pulled out the list that I’d made
But in my heart the feeling just stayed
What was I missing, who had I left out?
My list was incomplete of this there was no doubt.
Then it hit me like a thunderous bolt
And from my easy chair I sprang with a jolt
I wouldn’t need paper or bows for this gift
For it is their spirit I needed to lift
I dropped to my knees, my head bowed in prayer
That God would keep them safe while they’re over there
They’re protecting our lives while we’re free to roam
Protecting our freedoms so far from their home
While we’re singing a chorus of Silent Night
They’re praying that tonight there won’t be a fight
Peace on Earth, Goodwill toward all men
How many times they pray over and over again
So I’m wrapping my prayer with God’s loving arms
Praying that He will keep you all from war’s harms
We love and support you for the sacrifices you make
And for all that you do for our country’s sake
Merry Christmas Marines, thanks for the present you gave
When sacrificing your lives for our country to save.
