IT'S DEJA VU (1962) ALL OVER AGAIN
With apologies to Yogi Berra, of course!
1962. Richard Nixon had a belly full. Lost the Presidency to Kennedy, ravaged by the liberal media because of his humble beginnings (son of a green grocer). So after another political loss in California, he made this famous quote
"You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore because, gentlemen, this is my last press conference."
6 years later, the aforementioned Dick Nixon was the President of the United States.
Our Beloved Sarah Palin had a 1962 Richard Nixon moment last week. Fed up with the constant attacks on her husband, her children, and herself. Fed up with the constant groundless ethics investigations that have cost her hundreds of thouands of dollars to defend her conduct, NONE of which have produced ANYTHING. Finally the FBI had to make an official statement saying that Governor Palin is NOT under ANY investigation for ANYTHING. But the Good ol' boy establishment in Alaska wasn't going to stop, and they were trying to bankrupt her by defending herself in court. Also makes it kind of tough to do the people's business in AK when you're constantly in court over groundless and baseless charges. So she turned the government run national media on its collective tush and QUIT.
NO American politician has been savaged by the press the way Sarah has. Not even Nixon in the mess of Watergate and his resignation from the Presidency. And there's only one reason for it. THEY'RE AFRAID OF HER. And they should be. Every other Vice Presidential loser in history has faded into TOTAL OBSCURITY. NON-NEWS MAKING. But they kept beating on her. And their fear that she's a female Ronald Reagan with the guts of Margaret Thatcher is the reason why.
She did what any person with common sense would do. She looked at her remaining term time as governor and asked herself. Will I be able to do anything else to make my executive experience cred look better in this job? Obviously with the unrelenting attacks of the AK partisans and the Obama backed media, the answer was no. So why put up with it?
The last Rasmussen I saw showed that 23% of ALL Americans and 68% of Republicans have a positive view of Sarah. She has what no other 2010 R presidential hopeful has or hopes to have at this juncture---A BASE. And to paraphrase Jesus to Peter, "Upon this base she can build".
And she does need some rehab---to her political image. Being thrust into the National spotlight with no previous experience in that arena, she made some rookie mistakes. And the elitist media carved her up with every one, and invented plenty of knives of their own to thrust into her back. Rehab takes time. Time that she now HAS.
There's no disputing that for any Republican or Conservative candidate, Sarah Palin will be the hottest ticket available for speeches, fundraising dinners and rallies. And for every one she does, she will be collecting an IOU for her Presidential run. And in between, she can be studying up on foreign policy, economics, etc. There is a possibility that Fox News will have a "Palin" show just like "Huckabee", which just got renewed for 3 years. Roger Ailes is no dummy---if he gives Palin 60 minutes a week in the Bully Pulpit, Liberals will be cowering in fear.
Sarah's not down. She's not out. She's a competitor. She's a hunter. She's never quit anything except to move up to something better.
Watch out America---Sarah's not going to lie down for the elitists. I see her kicking some serious ass in the future.

I think Sarah is a very viable 3rd Party option, more so than Perot who captured 20% of the vote.
I know, I know. The last successful 3rd Party option was the Republican Party. But I've really had it with the GOP. I want a Party that's actually conservative.

Hank, are you pimping for a job as her publicist? I don't think his current one could've done better.

Forget she's a folksy hottie cougar.
We are in the grip of 1977. Empty headed Socialist in the White House, CA instead of NYC going bankrupt, teetering on the precipice of financial ruin.
And Sarah Palin gives me the same kind of REAL Hope that Ronald Reagan gave me. Election night 1980 I was in my house in Puerto Rico, dancing in front of the TV singing, "Aidos, Mother F**cker!!" to my Commander in Chief---knowing that the country had a chance.
Or, when Reagan gave control of the entire Marine Corps to General Commandant Alfred M Gray. Al Gray was my division commander at Camp Lejuene, and he is a Marine's Marine in every way, where his predecessor was a poltician, and not much of a warrior.
I could go on for a while about him, (Enlisted as a private during Korean War,as I had several conversations with him while in the 2nd Marine Division. Suffice it to say that he is held in such high esteem that he is the Honorary National Commandant of the Marine Corps League. I was reading Marine Corps Times and saw he'd been made Commandant. And he told the Corps just as Clint Eastwood's Gunny Highway did in the movies---"Life as you know it has ENDED", and the Marine Corps was back on the right track.
Don't count that woman down. They counted Reagan down in 1976 when he didn't get the nomination.
