The new system at Steele is in place, and we're learning the ins and outs. So things are beginning to free up for me, though the next 2 weeks will be busy ones.
Lots of things have been going on.
Wanda has been diagnosed with Myophagic Pain Disorder, a stress related pain syndrome involving the muscles of her neck and shoulder on the left side. She's on medication, but it's not working too good yet. Good news is that this is a condition that will resolve over time. Good thing, because people in pain STAY pretty crabby. Problem is until this project she's been working on for the last 2 years won't end until approx December, and until then her stress level will stay pretty high. That and working 6-7 days a week for 12-16 hours isn't helping much.
I was selected by my Marine Corps League detachment as their nominee for Department of NC Marine of the Year. My package will be examined with God only knows how many others and a winner will be announced at the Department Convention a week from Saturday. How that will work out I don't know, but my package is pretty well put together, and some consider me a shoe-in. I don't put much stock in winning anything until I hear my name called.
There's also a 480 ticket reverse raffle at the Convention, 100.00/ ticket. Each ticket is drawn, each 10th ticket drawn wins 100.00, last ticket pulled wins 10K. I bought 2 tickets. Sure would like to win that 10K. Proceeds go to help fund the 2010 MCL National Convention to be held in Greensboro, NC.
Saturday the 23rd of May was a big day for our detachment. Flag give-away for donations in the AM and the 2nd annual Capt. Jeb F Seagle Memorial Race at East Lincoln Speedway raised almost 8000.00 in one day. I was sore as hell from walking up and down my part of the intersection next day, but the effort was worth it.
I'm completely disgusted by the exploits of Obamanism. We're well on our way to becoming a 4th rate country, with a state run media. I heard a local talk radio person say he's glad he's almost 60, because he doesn't have to fear living in this country for the next 40 years. Sad Commentary.
Let's get off our collective duffs and write. Someone piss you off today? --Besides the President and his minions? Tell the rest of us about it. Go somewhere nice for dinner, or cooked a good meal? Let's hear it.
In other words---let's get back to business, eh?
Good to hear from you, Hank. Sorry to hear about Wanda's pain problem.
Just had my package examined, too. It was in pretty good shape.
