It's the last day of March. Winter is over in these parts. Oh, we may get another dusting of snow, but I think pretty much all of Mazurland's authors and regular readers can say that wherever they are, it would really suck to be in Fargo right now. A few loose ends:
- My three NCAA pool brackets are pretty much toast. I am technically still leading in one, but I have Louisville winning that one. I have North Carolina in another, but even if they win it all, the best I can do is 6th in that pool because I only have two of the current Final Four correctly picked.
- Consolation for all that: Penn State plays Notre Dame in the NIT semifinal in a few minutes. They ended the regular season just out of the Big Dance. One more win, or one win won more convincingly, would have gotten them there. But it's just as well they didn't go. They likely would have had a high seed number and been eliminated in one of the early rounds. They've been playing really well lately and have a real shot at winning this tourney.
- I'm officially a geezer. It's been coming for a while. Yes, I've complained here about running slower. And my wife signed me up for an AARP card. (This was an act of unwarranted cruelty. She's older than me!) I'm starting the geezer behavior patterns. I'm going in for a stress test. My doctor told me to watch my cholesterol. I'm talking more about my ailments. And did I tell you I have a colonoscopy coming up?'
- I'm considering a change in venue. More on this later.
