I've been thinking about the recent comments Ann Coulter made about John Edwards. I agree with the vast majority of people on the Left, and Right, that feels her name-calling was wrong and mean-spirited. But I've also come to the conclusion that if, like Ann, you dislike Edwards, the stunt was highly effective. I can't think of one utterance (besides the Dean "scream") that has done so much to derail a candidates presidential hopes. It's like telling people not to think of an elephant: from now on, every time Edwards is seen on TV it'll be impossible not to think of Coulter's comment.
Now if that wasn't bad enough for Edwards, there's this in today's news (this time coming from his "friends"): Could Edwards Become Our First Woman President:
"Toni Morrison famously dubbed President Clinton America's 'first black president.' With that barrier broken, the comments of a prominent feminist are provoking debate about who may lay a similar claim to the title of America's first woman president.
The candidate being touted as a torchbearer for women is not Senator Clinton, but one of her former colleagues, John Edwards. At a rally near the University of California, Berkeley campus this week, a veteran of the abortion-rights movement, Kate Michelman, asked and answered the question she gets most frequently about her decision to back the male former senator from North Carolina.
'Why John Edwards, given the historic nature of our extraordinary campaign for the presidency this year with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and all the others?' Ms. Michelman asked as she warmed up the crowd for Mr. Edwards. 'I've gotten to know a lot of political leaders over the years that I've been an advocate for women's rights. I know the difference between those who advocate as a political position and those who understand the reality of women's lives.'
Compared to Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Edwards is short an ‘X' chromosome, but listening to Ms. Michelman, that is easy to forget. 'As a lawyer, as a senator, as a husband, as a father of two daughters, he understands the reality of women's lives. He understands the centrality of women's lives and experience to the health and well-being of society as a whole. … He understands that on an extremely personal level," she said.'"
From now on, no matter which impression you have of Edwards, this classic video will reinforce your view.
You promised, and delivered! faggot_1.jpg indeed...
NOTHING ESCAPES MY NOTICE!!!!!!

I corrected the images name to get rid of the "_1".
After I posted this, I turned on Rush and he opened with the same story. I feel honored.

So you could say that you... exorcised... the "_1"?

It looks like the Dems have a twofer in Edwards. If he wins, he'd be the first woman President, and the first faggot to occupy the oval office. Maybe they'll call him the Pomander-in-Chief.

On a more serious note, I've been thinking the same thing. And you know that the Dems will call it a Republican dirty trick (though the neither Republican Party nor any of the candidates had anything to do with it). But the thing is, random insults don't work. Unfair as the tactic may be, there has to be something to stick to.

Personally I think his name used to be Phil Atio. I also believe he had a letter "W" tatooed on each of his butt cheeks. Not in tribute to our President, but so when he bends over he spells out WOW.
I despise this man with a rancor that is very difficult to express in words. He's one of the biggest Hypocrites in US history.

Marty,
Why do I get the feeling that the Clintons were behind this feminist "vote of confidence"?
I can just see Edwards wince when he saw this news item, after the rough week he's already had. Makes you wonder what's in store for Obama.....
Of course, some people feel Obama won't be *too* damaged by the Clintonites since he might be pegged to be Hillary's running mate.

Vicky says that the next time you put up a picture of Edwards, you should name it "coulters-bitch.jpg".
