We at Mazurland are sad to announce the recent demise of the world's ugliest dog.
Sam, who has reached a certain notoriety and fame recently due to his startling appearance, has passed away at the age of 14.
"Lockheed [the dog's owner] said she was initially terrified of Sam when she agreed to take him in as a rescue six years ago on a 48-hour trial basis. Although she fell in love with him, his appearance repulsed her then-boyfriend and prompted the man to break up with her.
Later, however, Sam became a matchmaker by bringing together Lockheed and her current beau, who saw a picture of the two on an online dating site."
It's unclear to me whether or not, in doggie heaven, the body is reunited with the soul. But in a way, it really doesn't matter since dogs, even while on this earth, don't really seem to care about such superficial things as appearance.
RIP Sam.
That dog is the very definition of a hellhound. I've seen pictures of it before, but your post made me think immediately of your Just Rewards post of yesterday, with the Onion article's description of the surprises that awaited the 9/11 hijackers in the afterlife.

Having recently just written about this dog I was very surprised to hear back it's death while I was channel surfing this AM. I'm curious about the dog that will now be carry the moniker of "world's ugliest dog".

Sr. Turnip, when Chris let loose this post this afternoon, I knew I'd seen the vile hellhound somewhere recently. I went and visited most of my mandatory blogs. How I could've missed your post I don't know. It is perhaps the most hideous picture I've ever seen of that animal!

Lockheed? The dog's owner is LOCKHEED? I think it's clear that this is no dog, but a super-secret CIA (or possibly psychic Mazur family) conspiracy to create a race of... well, really ugly dog-like beasts. Why? Only God knows. Maybe to make the French uncomfortable? I believe I read that this "dog" was part Chinese Crested, which certainly explains alot... MAOISTS!
